Don’t look back

Don’t look back

So I’ll admit it.  I’ve had my head in the sand.  I’ve been deluding myself.

My progress in terms of sticking with Bootcamp and hitting at least 10,000 steps a day is all well and good.  But the fact remains that I am still binge eating.

Daily.  In some form or another, I am comfort eating.  Numbing with food.

So, thank goodness Kylie has started weekly webinars to revisit the Goddess Body Quest programme.  Week one focuses on awareness.  Working through the programme and the various worksheets I realised how far I have come, but that I still have a lot of work to do.

Most usefully, Kylie spent time talking about time and our relation to it.

I loved what she said about focusing on the future and not spending too much time looking back.  Focusing on the past, she said, is like driving with your eyes always on the rear view mirror.  Obviously this is not a safe way of operating.  Love this idea.

So I’m putting my past behind me.

Kylie also had us all visualising our personal relationship with time and then manipulating it.  I know it sounds a little strange, but I found it incredibly helpful.  I’ve had such problems trying to visualise a lean, fit and healthy future self, and this exercise was fantastic at making the future possible and exciting.

It’s good to be moving forward, free from the burden of the blame of the past, but it’s daunting to look at my present self with clear, unemotional vision.

I feel as though I have a thoroughly screwed up relationship with food right now.  I know I am capable of conquering my demons because I’ve done it before, but it’s a big challenge and not easy.  I know that this is what the course comes onto in the next few weeks, so I’ll just trust in the process and keep moving forward.  Without looking back ….

Codename: Goddess.  Signing off.
