Fear of flying

Fear of flying

Some of the posts on the Goddess Body Quest private Facebook group have been incredibly helpful in the last couple of days.

In particular the following quotation shared by one of my wonderful, supportive fellow Goddesses:

“How does one become a butterfly?” She asked pensively.

“You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar!”

This captures my current predicament.  I feel paralysed.  Stuck between my old, poor eating habits of binging and numbing with food and yet I am not changing.

Kylie often talks about ‘away from’ and ‘toward’ motivation and this image of the caterpillar and butterfly clearly shows these two elements.  And it seems to me that I have not yet fully articulated my ‘butterfly’ yet.

I am also fearful of saying goodbye to my caterpillar self.  I am frightened to leave this comfort zone, however unhealthy it may be.  I am fearful of the process of change and I am fearful of what becoming a butterfly means.

This has to be my next focus for my personal quest.
