Overcoming fear: The leap of faith

Overcoming fear: The leap of faith

I took a leap today. I inadvertently reached my “leap of faith” point with a new project I am doing.

There comes a time, when making a change of any significance in your life when you have to let go of something that is stable and secure to make room for variety and change. This is what happened today. I have been spending a lot of time and energy thinking about this new project that I am creating. (I’ll tell you more about the project soon) I have been tossing and turning it in my head, even dreaming about ideas for it. I know it will be sucessful, however I hadn’t given enough thought to making lots of room for it in my life. Luckily, the universe and my unconscious mind has me covered.

Another project that has been a wonderful source of security and stability was wound up today, unexpectedly. I was a little taken aback because everything has been going well with that, but they had reached a turning point and it was time for a change for them too. So now I have some extra free time in my schedule. (And some extra income to make for my business.)  I walked out of the meeting thinking “Ok. Nothing is lost. Energy only ever transforms.” I kept saying that to myself as I walked down the street.

The cold grip of fear tried to get the better of me. However, I have processed fear too many times to get swept up in its drama.

Meanwhile during this meeting, I had 4 missed calls, which I listened to an hour later. My fear was, as usual, a nice reminder to stay motivated, but unfounded and unnecessary. My energy had tranformed instantly! The income and time I had “lost” from the old project winding up, was immediately transferred into new business for my new project!

How wonderful. My thoughts had been manifesting new things for this project, but in order to make room for it to be sucessful I needed sufficient time and energy to devote to it.

As I look back through my life, whenever I have been on the threshold of something really good, there was a moment of fear when I had to let go of the old to make room for the new. Letting go of stability can be scary, but you’ll never know the thrill of leaping into the unknown and landing on your feet if you don’t give it a try.

Is there something new you’d like to bring into your life?
Is there something that has come to a conclusion that you are holding onto?
What action can you take today to help manifest this new thing in your life?

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
