So many people think that if you love yourself and accept yourself if you’re overweight, that’s going to decrease your motivation and make you not want to go and do the things that you need to do to get slim.
But it couldn’t be further from the truth.
The truth is that weight loss through self-nourishment is the ultimate paradox; that by loving yourself as you are right now, you can create the habit change that you’re going to more naturally choose healthy choices for yourself, naturally choose things that are good for your body – because you believe that you’re worthy of having that food, that nourishment, that nutrition.
And you’re going to want to go and do those activities because it feels good for your body. Not as some punishment because you ate a Tim-Tam last night or because you feel like you’ve got wobbly thighs – but because you actually genuinely love yourself.
Weight loss and self-love are not mutually exclusive. They are hand in hand. They are teammates. So if you’ve been beating yourself up, if you’ve been being mean to yourself and judging yourself and putting yourself down, it’s time to stop that and start to treat yourself like a treasured friend.
Be kind to yourself. Forgive yourself. If you make a slip-up, be compassionate. And that’s going to help you.
It seems like it’s a backward step at the start, but let me tell you or ask you this question:
I don’t think so. In fact, I know it doesn’t work in the long run.
We have lots of programs that actually help you to shift your mindset around this stuff and transform that. But, for now, just start being kind to yourself, and we would love to serve you more and teach you more about how to do this.
“Having ongoing training is essential for our team and our business. It’s important to look after the people that look after others. Kylie has the experience, professionalism and knowledge to engage with our team and help them understand about human behaviour and why people do what they do. In the wellness and health industry it’s a different sales and service delivery and it’s imperative to keep on top of these understandings to perform at our best to help others. We couldn’t recommend Kylie high enough.”
I have worked with Kylie over many years. She has helped me as a Business Mindset Coach, as a motivational speaker for clients when I had my gyms with Vision and more recently at Flow Athletic. I bring her in to train my Personal Training teams in mindset, communication and how to coach our clients better and excel in our own personal mastery.
I highly recommend her work.
