Your Vision! Finding your passion.

Your Vision! Finding your passion.

Your Vision is the rudder for your life. It is how you see your life when it is perfect. It will have to do with a great achievement or contribution that really means something to you.

If you have no specific vision for your life, dream of one now! Your vision is different to your goals, however your goals and action plans will be in line with your vision. Your vision is that massive, magical thing that makes you excited to get up in the morning, and keep going when you are tired.

As young women these days, enjoying the benefits of the work our great-grandmothers, grandmothers and mothers did for women’s rights, we kind of take it for granted that we can do anything that we want to. There are no limits today if you want to be an astronaut, doctor, lawyer or race-car driver. So what do you want?

Sometimes that endless sea of options can cause confusion or overwhelm, however, many people secretly do know what they really want in life, they just box themselves into a corner with “shoulds” and fears.

Honour the accomplishments of your foremothers by respecting what you really want to do with your life, and doing something about it.

“If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”
– Isaac Newton, letter to Robert Hooke, 1676

Ask yourself these questions and listen for the truth in your heart. Sometimes what we really want to do with our lives seems so absurd or so big that we cannot imagine it ever happening. It seems ridiculous and makes us think: “Who am I to be so special to have that, or do that?” but if not you, who?

Someone has to be prime minister, have a platinum selling record, or have a multi-million dollar business. The people who have great success have great visions for their lives and for the service they can provide the world. They are passionate and dedicated to their vision. Often they say that they love it so much they would do it for free! So who are going to be the leaders of tomorrow if not you?

  • What would you do if there was no possibility you could fail?
  • What would you do with your life if you did not have to work for money?
  • What are you really passionate about?
  • What are you really good at?
  • What could you be the best at?
  • What is your vision for your life?
  • What would you love to have accomplished in the next 5/ 10 years?
  • What can you do today to start making that happen?
